What we collect

TDL · Portugal Tides does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device. Tide predictions for 2026 are bundled with the app and require no network connection.

Location

If you grant location permission, your device's GPS coordinates are used locally to pre-select the nearest beach on the coastline. Your location is never sent to any server and never leaves your device.

In-app purchases

The optional Pro upgrade is processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat (a subscription infrastructure provider) to verify purchases. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous device identifier and your purchase receipt. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Contact form

Messages you send through the contact form on this website are delivered by email via Resend (resend.com). The data transmitted — your name, email address, and message — is used only to reply to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.

Analytics, tracking, advertising

None. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party scripts. This website uses no cookies or tracking pixels.

Purpose of the app

TDL · Portugal Tides provides tide predictions for recreational use by surfers, swimmers, and beachgoers on mainland Portuguese coastline. Predictions are calculated from data published by the Instituto Hidrográfico de Portugal (IH).

No warranty — safety disclaimer

Tide predictions are estimates. Actual conditions may differ significantly from displayed values, particularly near estuaries, lagoons, and enclosed bays. The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.

Do not use this app for navigation, diving, or any safety-critical decision. Consult official nautical charts, harbour authorities, and weather services for any activity where tide accuracy is critical.

In-app purchases

The Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase that unlocks all locations, the full tide graph, and saved favorites. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their App Store refund policy.

Data source

Tide data is derived from the Instituto Hidrográfico de Portugal's Tabela de Marés 2026, licensed under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. Data is provided with attribution and without modification beyond format conversion.
